10 Creative Valentine's Day Ideas

Every year it’s the same. Trying to come up with creative Valentine’s Day ideas that not everyone is doing. Sure, we all love candlelight dinners and heart shaped boxes of chocolate, but there has to be a better way to show your loved one how much they mean to you.

So, this year, One Organized Mom has compiled a list of creative and unique Valentine’s Day ideas that are sure to keep you both smiling! No “cliché” dinner and a movie here! We are out to give you suggestions for your best Valentine’s Day ever!

1. A Custom Book

Have a book made about the first time you met your special someone until now! Be sure to include some photos of the two of you from past and present so that you can look back at all the wonderful memories you’ve made  together. Shutterfly offers a great option for this!

2. Personalized Sign

Something that speaks to your relationship and can have your names added to it. Etsy is a great place to check out for this kind of stuff! Or find a local crafter and support a local business!

3. A Romantic Get-Away

I know this one sounds the most cliché but, not if you are creative about it! Maybe a weekend at a hidden away, cozy cabin with a wood fire and plenty of champagne and chocolate.

4. Grab your partner and go on a scavenger hunt in your local vintage shop

even if you don’t find something to buy, the items you come across might spark conversation, or nostalgia from days gone by.

5. Arrange to take a class together

find something you both have in common and have always wanted to try, but never quite got around to. It could be anything from dance lessons to scuba diving. If you are really brave and want to try sky diving, then the sky really is the limit!

6. How about a Home Spa Day

Candles, a new robe, a bath with beautifully scented essential oils and couple’s massages. Check out this article, How to Give Your Partner the Best At-Home Massage Ever for some fabulous tips on how to make it a massage neither of you will forget!

7. Write a Love Letter

Nothing is more personal and romantic than receiving a love letter from your partner. You can lay out all the reasons you love them and what makes them so special. This is both romantic and very inexpensive and the rewards may just outweigh anything else you could do!

8. Make a homemade gift

this can be anything from baking their favorite treat to building them something. If you are a crafter, the options are infinite! If you can’t cook or build, get creative and figure out what you can do. It doesn’t have to be a grand gesture; it just has to come from the heart.

9. International Cuisine Night

Choose a country whose food you have always wanted to try. Prepare a menu of those foods and spend time together preparing each dish and enjoying a fabulous feast at the end!

10. Make a Time Capsule

Add a touch of whimsy to your love life and make a time capsule with your spouse. Take a box and add small knick-knacks and keepsakes that mean a lot to you – a souvenir from your first vacation, a handwritten note, and so on. Make a promise to open it together a year from now so that you will have something to look forward to next Valentine’s Day!

Hopefully one of these ideas has inspired you to get creative this Valentine’s Day! If not, one more fantastic idea would be a One Organized Mom Gift Card! Giving her a fresh clean home while you take her out on the town would be a gift anyone would love!! We would love to hear if you try any of these ideas and how they worked out for you.
