Cleaning Your Toilet

What NOT to do when cleaning your bathroom

In more than 10 years of House Cleaning in Jupiter, Tequesta, Palm Beach Gardens, West Palm Beach, and the surrounding areas, we’ve learned a few things about how to clean just about everything in your home.  While cleaning toilets is no one’s favorite job, what gets dirty, must be cleaned!

Here in South Florida, our hard water causes build up wherever water sits for any period of time.  I can’t tell you the number of times our clients call us amazed that we got that hard to remove build-up off of their toilet bowls, sinks and water faucets in the bathroom.

Our secret… the unique combination of our highly trained professional maids and Bar Keepers Friend. When cleaning your toilet, our maids mix a little Bar Keepers Powder with a tiny drop of Dawn dish soap.  Using a SCRATCH FREE sponge (the blue one) we scrub those hard water stains and soap build-up away, then rinse and repeat if needed.  Depending on the level of debris and build-up, we sometimes have to do this a few times until there’s no build-up left. We leave the toilets shiny clean and our clients smiling ear to ear!

Watch the video above to see what you absolutely MUST NOT do when cleaning your toilet.
