Uncover the Answers: Exploring Common Concerns

We’ve done our best to answer your frequently asked questions below.
No one has more fun cleaning than we do, but cleaning your home or business is SERIOUS business!
If you don’t find the answers you’re looking for, give our friendly office team a call.

How many people do you send to clean my home?

We typically send in a team of 2. However, due to staffing or scheduling changes we may send in 1 cleaner or a team of 3!

What time can I expect the cleaners to arrive?

One Organized Mom will guarantee a specific day for your house cleaning but not a specific time. Due to our flexible and ever changing schedule, we are unable to commit to a specific time of the day for our maids to arrive. However, we do send out an email reminder a week before your scheduled cleaning, plus, we send another reminder email the day before with a 2 hour window of our expected arrival time.

How should I pay for my cleaning?

We do require a credit card on file in order to provide you with services. You are welcome to pay by cash, check or with the credit card on file. We will run the credit card on file if no payment is left at the time of the cleaning.

Do I have to sign a contract?

We do not require a signed contract but we do ask that you review our terms of service on our website. We believe that every good relationship starts with great communication.

Do you bring your own supplies?

One Organized Mom brings all supplies and equipment needed for your cleaning with the exception of toilet bowl brushes. Please provide a brush for each bathroom (due to sanitary concerns).

Do the cleaners who come to my house like pets?

We want your pets to feel comfortable with us in your home during the cleaning process so we only hire pet-friendly cleaning technicians.

What should I do about my security / alarm system on cleaning day?

If you will not be home to let us in, we ask that you provide us with a key and if necessary, an alarm code. All keys are numbered and kept securely locked in our office until the day of your cleaning. If you choose not to provide us with a key and we are unable to access your home for a scheduled cleaning, you will be charged the cleaning fee in full.

What if I accidentally forget to leave a key or the team can't gain access to my house on cleaning day?

If we are not able to get into the house during our scheduled time, the cleaning payment is due in full.

Do you offer gift certificates?

Yes and they are available for all sorts of special occasions.

What happens when there’s dishes or clutter?

We do our best at putting items away if we know where they go, if not, we will neatly pile items during our cleaning. We ask that you take care of the dishes prior to our arrival so we can spend more time cleaning your home.

Do you clean inside china/curio cabinets?

We know this is where you keep all the ‘cool, irreplaceable’ stuff so we only clean the outsides due to liability reasons.

What if I need to reschedule a cleaning?

We have a 48 (business) hour cancellation fee. If you need to reschedule we ask that you contact us within that time in order to avoid our $100 cancellation fee. If someone is sick in the house, we ask you to reschedule to another day after everyone is well. If you reschedule within 5 days, no cancellation fee is charged.

Do I need to do anything before you come to clean?

Please put important items and papers away, pick up clutter, file and generally tidy up so our team members can do our job well. If things are left out it will be harder for us to clean surfaces and you definitely don’t want to risk us putting things where you may have a hard time finding them later!

What if my cleaning falls on a holiday?

Our office is closed on the following holidays: New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Black Friday and Christmas Day. If your scheduled cleaning falls on one of these holidays, we will contact you prior to the holiday to reschedule your cleaning.

Will your cleaners pick up pet accidents?

Unfortunately no and here’s why…Human and animal urine and feces, medical syringes, mucous, vomit and blood all fall into the categories of biological hazards and blood-borne pathogens. OSHA states, “While OSHA does not generally consider all maintenance personnel and janitorial staff employed in non-healthcare facilities to have occupational exposure, it is the employer’s responsibility to determine which job classifications involve occupational exposure.” For this reason, we train our cleaning technicians to avoid potential biological hazards and blood-borne pathogens beyond what is part of our cleaning procedure. We clean around them to the best of our ability and notify you of their presence.

Will your teammates remove their shoes in my house if I ask them to?

We are required by OSHA regulations to wear slip-resistant, protective footwear in our place of work, which also happens to be your home. In the spirit of compromise, we do provide our teams with slip-resistant shoe covers we will be happy to wear in your home.

Rate Changes

One Organized Mom reserves the right to re-evaluate rates at any time, based on the amount of time it takes to perform our services to meet our customer’s standards or expectations. We monitor the cleaning time in each home and will contact the client to discuss possible price or service revisions if the cleaning time differs significantly from the original bid.
